 Mayor Dyer Encourages Residents to
Recycle Unused Electronics
|
WHAT: |
Do you have an old cell phone or television
sitting around at your house collecting dust? Did you know
those electronics – and others – can be recycled and their
parts reused? Recycling electronics like fax machines and
laptops keeps lead, mercury and other toxic materials from
harming people and the environment.
To help prevent electronic waste in our
landfills, the City’s Keep Orlando Beautiful program is
hosting a free electronic waste collection on Saturday, June
11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Orlando residents can bring all
their unused electronics to one location and will not even
have to get out of their car while electronics are unloaded.
Participating residents will also be entered into a raffle
for a chance to win a new laptop.
